Beeston to benefit from new multi-million pound development

Full planning consent has now been granted for an exciting modern development of 132 flats, new cinema and food outlets in the heart of Beeston’s vibrant town centre. Situated on the site that was formerly used as a multi-storey car park and has in more recent years been the site for the ‘Beeston on Sands’.

This new development adjacent to the tram and much improved town square will help link Beeston town centre and Chillwell High road providing a further boost for the diverse town centre that has greatly improved over recent years.

The proposed residential development of both the Myford’s and the much anticipated Barton Quarter sites further along the High Road will also provide much needed houses and flats for the area.

This in turn and will help further enhance the developing café culture and nighttime economy within the town. It is hoped that the development will attract new businesses and people to the area, and has been supported by the local council.

Broxtowe Borough Council has responded to the news, which involves several mock-ups of how the new plans could alter the town centre.

Councilor Richard Jackson is quoted as being ‘delighted that the scheme has been given the go-ahead’, and stated the development will “Bring increased footfall for existing traders and will create jobs in property construction and hospitality supporting our local economy.”

Here at Robert Ellis, we believe this new development along with a diverse employment base, excellent transport links and leisure facilities will encourage more buyers to settle in the area. This is expected to have a positive impact on both property prices and demand for homes in the area.
