POSITIVE TIMES AHEAD FOR THE MORTGAGE MARKET!
The last twelve months has been a very difficult and turbulent time for us all and the mortgage market has certainly been no exception to that.
We have seen mortgage deals pulled from the market, mortgage rates increasing and criteria to get a mortgage become more difficult and stricter.
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel, in the past few days, weeks and months we have seen a return to 90% lending from the major high street banks such as Halifax, Santander, Nationwide, Nat West etc.
Hopefully this is a real sign of things to come and we would hope to a see a return to normality in the coming months, such as a return to 95% lending from government backed mortgages, interest rates reducing on products with smaller deposits, such as 10% and 15% and the lenders being more flexible, in relation to their lending criteria. Obviously this will be dependant on how the Covid-19 virus pans out and we are all united to a return to normal as quickly and as safely as possible.
