West Bridgford Area Guide

West Bridgford Area Guide

A Guide to the Town

West Bridgford Estate & Letting Agents

With a population of more than 50,000, West Bridgford is located some two miles south of the city of Nottingham with the famous “River Trent” forming a natural boundary to the northern side of the town. The iconic “Trent Bridge” is one of four river crossings linking Bridgford to the City which also include the “Toll Bridge” at Wilford, “Wilford Suspension Bridge” and “Lady Bay Bridge”.

West Bridgford sits within the borough of Rushcliffe and houses the administrative centre of Rushcliffe Borough Council. Of all the towns in Nottingham, Bridgford particularly very much retains its own identity as an affluent well serviced area in its own right and now encompasses the suburbs of Edwalton, Gamston, Ruddington, Tollerton as well as more outlying villages including Plumtree, Radcliffe on Trent and Cotgrave.

Nottingham’s main ring road, the A52 borders the edge of West Bridgford and Edwalton, linking up with Clifton Boulevard to the South West and providing access to both Radcliffe on Trent and ultimately Grantham, to the East. The main A606 Melton Road takes you further south towards the A46, linking with Leicester.

West Bridgford is a vibrant, thriving town, much sought after as one of Nottingham’s premier residential locations. Traditionally, house prices have been maintained at the highest level and it continues to attract affluent professionals and families looking for quality property within a safe and thriving environment. West Bridgford offers an extensive choice of stunning properties, everything from period Edwardian and Victorian family homes through to smaller purpose built 1-bedroom flats. The town has seen extensive modern development with the addition of tasteful newly built estates with more traditional Victorian and 1930s semis and terraced housing closer to the town centre.
